Jerzens is a municipality in the district of Imst (district) and is located 8 km south of Imst at the Pitze River in the valley. Jerzens is situated at an altitude of 1.107 m above sea level and has a community of 1,000 inhabitants. Neighboring communities
of Jerzens: Arzl im Pitztal,Fließ,Kaunerberg,Roppen,Umhausen,Wenns. The Pitztal is a side valley of the Upper Inntal, and runs between the valleys Ötztal (to the east) and Kaunertal (to the west). The Pitze river runs the length of the valley and flows into the Rifflsee lake (2232 m).The Hochzeiger is a peak of the Geigenkamm, a mountain chain of the Ötztaler Alps in Tyrol. The mountain has a height of 2560 m and is located east of Jerzens in the Pitztal. From the Hochzeiger you can see the district capital of Imst, the Gurgl and the Inn valley.An important starting point for the ascent of the mountain is the Hochzeigerhaus, which was once reached by Jerzens by chairlift, today you can drive there by car. It is situated at an altitude of 1829 m, northwest of the Hochzeiger.
Today, the Hochzeiger ski area has an 8-person gondola lift, two 6-seater chairlifts, a four-seater chair lift and five other lifts with a total of 52 kilometers of slopes. Jerzens has about 2000 guests beds, sometimes in apartments, pensions and guesthouses and also some top wellness hotels .Visitors to the village will benefit from varied pistes and lots of sunshine, combined with high probability of snow, the 6km long natural illuminated toboggan run , excellent gastronomy and after-ski facilities.
It is an excellent location for summer passing, as well. A charming Tyrolean mountain village in which you will find peace and quiet, relaxation and hours of walking possibilities.
