Zand is a large square in Bruges, close to the historical center of the town and to the shopping street. In the square you will find the fountain and sculptures designed by Stefaan Depuydt and Livia Canestraro that were built between 1985-1986.
Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once the chief commercial city in the world.
